I’m not ready for party nominations – Jamleck Kamau

Saturday, February 26th, 2022 11:16 | By

Murang'a gubernatorial seat aspirant Jamleck Kamau has said he is not ready to go for any party nominations instead he shall pick a political vehicle that shall give him direct ticket.

Speaking in Kigumo on Friday, Kamau said he is a victim of bungled 2017 Jubilee Party nominations and he would not like to repeat the same mistake.

"I don't want to go back to that mess in the nomination but I will be announcing my vehicle of choice that will propel me to the seat of governor in Murang'a.

"The leaders who were voted out in last election are the ones people would have wanted because the nominations were inteferred with," he added.

He said this time, political parties will not determine the voting pattern in the country as people will go for individuals.

"We have always had a pattern to vote in leaders in one political party but this time we shall do things differently.

"I urge the people to look at the development track record of a leader because the party is just a name and it will never come do the work," Kamau added.

The aspirant also said people should not be compelled to vote for a particular candidate, instead they should be left to make their own decisions.

Kamau further said people should not read much about President Uhuru Kenyatta's move to endorse ODM leader Raila Odinga as the presidential candidate.

He said the President has his democratic right to do so.

"At the end of the day, the people shall be the ones to decide who to vote in as their President.

"All we are advocating for is peaceful campaigns and elections which will be free and fair," he added.
