Jubilee Party official suggests disciplinary action against Ruto
The Jubilee party Nakuru branch Secretary General Peter Cheruiyot has recommended disciplinary action against Deputy President William Ruto and Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika who accused him of violation of the party’s constitution.
Cheruiyot has since written a letter to the party headquarters in Nairobi recommending action against the two, saying they violated Article 13 of the Jubilee constitution by displaying disloyalty.
Move comes after it emerged the duo held a meeting on Sunday morning in Nakuru on how to rival the Jubilee party in the upcoming by-elections in London and Hell’s Gate wards within the county.
According to Cheruiyot, the two held the secret meeting at Kihika’s Ngata home where they strategised to campaign for Anthony Wachira and Jonathan Warothe, United Democratic Alliance candidates.
It is believed other senior politicians allied to the Deputy President were also in attendance.
They then proceeded to Londiani in Kericho for a church service and later to a political rally.
“The meeting took place at Kihika’s home where they deliberated on the upcoming by-elections and resolved to front candidates from another outfit to compete against Jubilee yet they are still members of our party,” said Cheruiyot.
He said the party held nominations for the two wards where Francis Njoroge (London) and Virginia Wamaitha (Hell’s Gate) were picked for the March 4 by-elections.
