Kabando ditches Karua’s Narc Kenya over ‘cultistic’ politics
Former Mukurweini Member of Parliament (MP) Kabando wa Kabando has ditched Martha Karua's Narc Kenya party citing "cultistic politics" which he said is bad for democracy.
Kabando said he had instructed Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) to remove him from the party register.
"As a matter of conscience and principle, I have instructed @ORPPKenya to deregister I, Hon. Kabando wa Kabando, from @narckenya . I believe in leadership teamwork and honesty.
"I detest chicanery and corruption. I thank @MarthaKarua and wish her well in Azimio ventures," Kabando wrote on his Twitter account.
He said the party no longer stands for its ideals.
"My family, confidants, allies, friends, and colleagues know of my tenacious support and trust in @MarthaKarua to compliment @RailaOdinga in our elusive quest to rekindle a national rainbow to crash graft and impunity. I regret we've lost it. Hopefully, we'll reconnect better soon," he stated.
Kabando to keep govt in check
The former MP, however, said he will continue keeping President William Ruto's government in check.
"I'll continue to boldly and independently, or in league with like-minded souls, play my patriotic part to keep President Ruto's increasingly rogue regime in check.
"Sadly, neither ODM nor NarcK are acting institutionally in this endeavour. Cultistic politics is bad for democracy," he added.
Kabando vied for Nyeri's senatorial seat last year and lost to Wahome Wamatinga of the United Democratic Alliance.
