The Kanu national party caucus has appealed to those seeking various seats, especially Ward Representatives, to contest on the party ticket.
Officials of the caucus promised fair and free primaries.

Led by the national chair Shadrack Okindo, the officials who have been traversing the country said their main focus was to set up strong party structures.

Speaking in Kwale, Okindo asked serving Ward Representatives to seek re-election  through the party.

“In fact we are highly urging the MCAs to join Kanu and vie for the position through the party since it will be more favourable to them considering that there will be many aspirants vying for MCA seats,” Okindo said.

“Kanu is an old party and it is very stable. The party’s nominations for various elective positions would not be marred by irregularities including vote rigging, voter intimidations and violence,” Okindo said.

He noted the party has embarked on countrywide tours under the banner ‘Kanu fresh” and will be meeting delegates at county levels geared towards extending its support at the grassroots.
