Kenya records 692 new Coronavirus cases

Kenya on Friday recorded 692 new Coronavirus cases from 6, 883 samples tested in the past 24 hours, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has announced.

This takes the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 191, 712.

The positivity rate now stands at 10.1 per cent.

Of the total cases, 668 are Kenyans and 24 are foreigners.

In terms of gender, 371 are males and 321 are females.

"The youngest is a one-year-old baby and the oldest is 95 years old," Kagwe said.

A total of 123 patients recovered, taking the number of recoveries to 180, 543.

Additional eight patients died pushing the total number of fatalities since the outbreak of the disease to 3, 754.
