Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has unveiled an anti-corruption customer reporting hotline that allows users to report suspected acts of fraud in the county.

Wamatangi said the service is part of his resolve to fight corruption and ensure sufficient service delivery.

“We have launched two toll-free customer reporting hotlines, 0742000888/ 0103000888 that will be based at my deputy’s office. These numbers will enable residents to share their complaints or compliments and more so report any form of malpractice by county employees,” Wamatangi said.

He added: “The numbers will keep me abreast of everything our people ought to see corrected and I urge them not to misuse it. They can either call or send short messages directly or through WhatsApp.”

The County boss also warned that his administration will not condone corruption, saying he has laid out stringent measures to curb corruption, which he noted had stifled general development in the county.

He noted that his administration will ensure the county retains its lost glory, adding that he envisages that by next year, the region will be among the best-devolved units in matters of service delivery and development.

His deputy, Rosemary Kirika lauded the move, saying the unveiling of the numbers will help fight corruption and also help in efficient and effective service delivery.

“The numbers will be a mode of intelligence gathering of the day-to-day activities,” she said.
