Kindiki ranked as best-performing CS in new TIFA report

Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki has been ranked as the best-performing CS in the Kenya Kwanza administration, the latest poll by TIFA shows.

According to TIFA, the CS topped with 68 per cent an equivalent of B plain, in the polls conducted between April 27 and Apil 29, 2024.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi was ranked as second best performing with 59 per cent, an equivalent of a C+.

Mudavadi tied with Youth, sports and Arts CS Ababu Namwamba as the best-performing CS.

The two were trailed by ICT and Digital Economy CS Eliud Owalo who scored 51 percent an equivalent of a C plain.

Worst performers

According to TIFA, Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi was ranked as the worst-performing CS with 25 per cent which translates to a mean grade of E.

Linturi was trailed by Water, Sanitation and Irrigation CS Zachari Njeru who scored 27 per cent, an equivalent of D-.

Other CSs included Investment, Trade and Industry CS Rebecca Miano, who was ranked third worst with 27 per cent (D-), Labour and Social Protection CS Florence Bore who was ranked fourth worst with 31 per cent (D-) and Energy and Petroleum CS Davis Chirchir who was ranked fifth wort with 33 per cent (D-).

TIFA noted that the overall rating was computed based on attributes such as awareness, trust, visibility, performance and overall rating.

The data collected from 2,912 respondents across 9 zones including Central Rift, Lower Eastern, Mt Kenya, Nairobi, Northern, Nyanza, South Rift and the Western region, was conducted via telephone with respondents whose contacts were collected face to face.
