A billboard erected near Moi Stadium by Embu gubernatorial aspirant Lenny Kivuti was pulled down by unknown people last night.

The banner bore a picture of the Devolution Empowerment Party symbol and was pinned less than 100 metres from the entrance of the stadium which is set to host this year's Madaraka Day celebrations.

A section of Kivuti's supporters have urged authorities to move with speed and arrest those who pulled it down.

Through several posts that they posted on Facebook, the supporters lamented that the move was the wrong direction and reiterated that the culprits involved should be brought to book.

"Whoever did this, shame on you. You may not like Lenny Kivuti but he's a leader in his own right. Besides, he has very many supporters in Embu, I being one of them. I personally feel offended, " one supporter identified as Nyaga Kei commented.

Kivuti was floored by Cecily Mbarire in the last year's election with many residents now saying they have seen the transformation in development since Governor Mbarire took over.

Some of the ongoing and upcoming projects include the rehabilitation of Embu Stadium which will host this year's Mandaraka Day celebrations, the construction of Njukiri sports complex, Embu storey market, affordable housing, industrial park and the upgrading of feeder roads within Embu CBD to bitumen standards.
