Kuria wants party primaries conducted electronically
Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party leader Moses Kuria now wants Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct party primaries electronically.
Kuria said there was no excuse on the use of technology in elections.
"Kenya has 21 Million Registered Voters and 25 million M-PESA users. Nobody has ever complained that the 25 Million MPESA users are too old or illiterate to transact.
"So no one should claim that the 21 million registered voters are too old or illiterate to vote electronically," he wrote on his Facebook page.
He said in the nomination rules submitted by 85 political parties for the 2022 General Elections last week, Chama Cha Kazi is the only party that committed that their nominations for MCAs, MPs, Woman Representatives, Senators, Governors and President will be conducted electronically via USSD mobile technology and the results streamed realtime and online throughout the country.
"Another first by the Kazi Na Pesa Party. Free and fair nominations without digital voting is a con game," he added.
