East Africa's betting company M-Bet has partnered with Spanish soccer league LaLiga Santander for a three-year deal.

According to M-Bet officials, the term begins in the 2020/21 season and was prompted by LaLiga's popularity in the East and Sub Saharan Africa.

M-Bet's CEO Daniel Fischer said the partnership will also help to boost local football talents.

“Through this collaboration we aim to inspire passionate and hard-working African talents who aspire to play in one of the preeminent leagues of the world – LaLiga. This agreement will greatly enhance our ability to develop local talent, bringing players and fans alike closer to legends and ambassadors from Africa who have played in LaLiga,” said Fischer.

La Liga is one of the world’s most popular footbal leagues and ranks among the top followed leagues in Africa.

Following the rapid expansion of its fan base across the continent, LaLiga is keen on developing football and providing access to its games and stars across Africa, with the support of regional sports-betting companies like M-Bet.

M-Bet operates in Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, DRC and Uganda where majority of the population have access to mobile phones and where there are mobile payment services.
