A man has today drawn attention outside the Parliament buildings by blatantly claiming that the late former president Mwai Kibaki was actually his biological grandfather.

The man who was being barred by local officers from making his entrance into the chambers where the former Head of State's body is being viewed came clad in a rather interesting T-shirt.

"I have been living with a mentality that I am a distant grandchild of Kibaki so give me a chance to see his body!" The man who identified himself as Alan wailed.

The man who stated that he comes from Bungoma stated that he strikes a very solar resemblance with the late Mwai Kibaki indicating that he too has also grown bald.

"People used to call me 'Kibaki'. From the time I came to Nairobi in 2016 till now, people still call me 'Kibaki' (mjukuu wa Kibaki)," he said.

The man indeed stole the show as mourners nationwide heeded the call of coming and paying their last respects to the country’s fallen hero.

The retired President Kibaki's body will lie in state till Wednesday. During this time, the public will be allowed to view the body ahead of the State Funeral scheduled on Friday at Nyayo Stadium which will include full military honours and protocols. These include conveyance of the body in a Gun Carriage, accompanied by Military Musical Honours and a 19 gun-salute.
