Man killed by wife over phone dispute

Police in Homa Bay town have launched investigations into the death of a 31-year-old man who was allegedly killed by his wife.

Charles Onyango died on the spot after he was allegedly stabbed with a knife by his wife inside a bar following a disagreement over a mobile phone.

The woman was rescued from an irate crowd baying for her blood by security officers led by area chief Joshua Ochogo before handing her over to the police.

Confirming the incident, Homa Bay town Police Commander Sammy Koskey said they have launched investigations into the matter.

“We’re going to interrogate the woman to know what exactly transpired during the incident,” Koskey said. The woman is being detained at Homa Bay Police Station.
