FKF Premier League promotion hopefuls Mara Sugar FC are in mourning following the sudden passing of their Chief Executive Officer and Team Manager, Thomas Oduor.

The club announced the heartbreaking news on Tuesday, without disclosing the cause of his death, which tragically occurred on his birthday.

Mara Sugar sadness

In a statement, Mara Sugar FC expressed deep regret and sadness over the loss of their leader.

They extended their heartfelt condolences to Oduor's family, insisting that he will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

"The Chairman and the Millers Family, the Technical Team, Players, Management, Supporters of the Green Nation. It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the passing of our Club CEO Thomas Odour. Our condolences go out to the entire Family. Rest in peace Boss You will forever be in our hearts.!" the statement by the club announced.

Luanda Villa were among the first clubs to send their condolonces. Villa said Oduor was passionate about the sport and added that his legacy will live forever.

"In the heart of the beautiful game, Mara Sugar Fc has lost a guiding light. Our deepest condolences flow from Luanda Villa Soccer Club to Mara Sugar FC on the passing of their revered team manager.

"Their presence on the touchline was more than just leadership; it was a beacon of passion, dedication, and unwavering support. May their legacy echo through every goal scored, every victory celebrated, and every challenge overcome.

"As you navigate this difficult time, know that the football community stands with you. Rest in peace, dear manager, your spirit forever lives on in the hearts of those you inspired," Villa said in a statement.

Mara Sugar push

Oduor's demise comes when the side is pushing for promotion and are placed top of the log with 62 points after 29 matches.

They have won 19 matches, five draws and five losses. The side came close last season before losing the playoffs to Muhoroni Youth..
