Mashujaa Day: Ruto promises to preserve Uhuru’s legacy if he wins 2022 polls

Deputy President William Ruto has vowed to continue President Uhuru Kenyatta's legacy should he ascend to power in next year's general elections.

Speaking during Mashujaa Day celebrations at Wangu'uru Stadium in Kirinyaga County, the DP also praised Uhuru's development record saying it was worth being continued.

"What you have done in the past nine years has really transformed our country. I assure you that my competitors and I will finish what you have started," Ruto said amid a cheering crowd.

Ruto also enumerated Jubilee government's accomplishes which include railway line, 8, 000 kilometres of road and transformation in the education sector.

"I assured you Mr President that your legacy and the unity agenda you have set and the transformation of our nation through the Big 4 and the bottom up approach will continue," he added.

The DP also said he will ensure peace prevails during the campaign period.
