Meat inspector attacked by hippos
A meat inspector is admitted at the Nyahururu County hospital nursing hippopotamus bites.
The 57-year-old Josephat Kahiga was attacked by about for hippos as he was walking home at Manguo estate at the outskirts of Nyahururu Town on Wednesday evening.
He was opening his gate when he was attacked. Manguo estate neighbours big water mass, which is part of Ewaso Narok River, which is a home to hundreds of hippos.
A neighbour, Joyce Karima, said she heard screams of a man calling for help.
“When I stepped out of the house, I found a person wrestling about four hippos and raised an alarm that attracted other neighbours who came to his rescue. A medic at the facility said the patient was in stable condition and is expected to undergo a surgery.
