Mount Kenya Foundation principals to host Maa leaders at Safari Park
Mount Kenya Foundation (MKF) officials will on Tuesday, January 25, host leaders from Maa community at Safari Park Hotel.
The MKF group has been supporting ODM leader Raila Odinga's presidential bid after they endorsed him last year as a possible candidate to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta.
The group consists of top wealthy individuals from the Mount Kenya region.
According to a media invite sent to the newsroom, the luncheon will be discussing the possible support of Azimio la Umoja that is led by the ODM leader.
"The event will be between Mount Kenya people and the Maa community to discuss issues of mutual interest among them the support of Azimio la Umoja," the statement read in part.
The invite was sent by Joe Murimi who is the foundation's Director of Communications.
Last year, after backing Raila Odinga for the presidency, MKF members met with leaders from the Arid and Semi-Arid lands (Asal) as they sought to shape President Uhuru Kenyatta's succession.
