Parliamentary Administration and Security Committee Chairman Paul Koinange has called upon politicians to scale down their political activities and concentrate on development.

He said the current high octane political temperatures in the country are likely to polarize the country at the expense of peace and tranquility.

He cautioned against the narrative peddled by the Deputy President William Ruto and his supporters ahead of the 2022 General Election is dangerous and likely to plunge the country into chaos.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday also raised the alarm over the narrative terming it dangerously retrogressive.

Koinange who is the Kiambaa Member of Parliament urged the DP to desist from dividing the country by creating an imaginary wedge between the rich and the poor through the 'Dynasty' vs 'Hustler' narrative.

"I urge Kenyans to be wary of him because he is only interested in amassing wealth at the expense of wananchi. He also has dictatorial tendencies and one can only imagine how he can behave if he happens to be President," he told the media at his Karuri office.

He added, "One has to work hard in order to live a decent life. Social and economic statuses of people the world over will never be the same. Poor and rich people have been there since time immemorial and they will continue to be there, and nobody ought to eat other people's sweat"

The MP who is President Uhuru Kenyatta's confidant also said the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) will ensure that regional  developmental matters would be anchored in the constitution and hence, nobody would deny Kenyans their share of the national cake.

"Once Uhuru exits office, he will leave us in the hands of the constitution and therefore we won't go kneeling down and begging whoever will be President to give us development resources," he said.
