ANC has insisted its leader Musalia Mudavadi was firmly in the presidential race. The party’s Secretary-General Simon Gikuru said the cooperation between Mudavadi, Deputy President William Ruto and Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula was not favouring any of them.

And he told Kenyans to brace “for the shock of their lives when Ruto will declare ‘Mudavadi Tosha’”.

“I am privy to details of the deal between my party, UDA and Ford-Kenya and there is no clause that favours either of the principals,” said Gikuru.

“So our party leader just like the Deputy President are still in the race for State House,” he added.
The ANC boss made the remarks when he accompanied businessman Fred Ikana in a series of public functions, including funerals, in Shinyalu, Kakamega County on Saturday. He said Mudavadi resolved to join forces with Ruto as a matter of principle and not out of financial gain.

“Mudavadi is our leader and we can not dictate to him whom to relate with. When a father leaves his house early in the morning to go and fend for his family, do the children force him to go to where they prefer?” he asked.
