Mumias East MP hands over duties to constituency manager as he recovers

Peter Salasya has temporarily relinquished his duties as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Mumias East constituency as he recuperates.

Salasya took to social media to inform his constituents that he was taking a two-week rest because he was not feeling well.

The Mumias East MP further said that he was handing over his duties to the constituency manager as he recovers.

"Banabefu pray for me …Not feeling well at all .I will take a sabbatical rest from the ground for two weeks any attention from me will be taken care by my constituency manager .Murio muno," Salasya tweeted.

The MP further shared a video of him being treated in a hospital with an injection port on his hand.

Salasya said that he had not been sleeping because he had been up and down in his constituency for the past two months.

"Nimefanya kazi kwa ground the last two months sijakua nkilala. Yani napanga vitu usiku mchana," Salasya said.

"By the way sometimes you need to take some rest. I am overworked I need to take a rest. I am not feeling well. Pray for me for a quick recovery," he added.

The Mumias East MP organized football matches for his people over the festive season and gave Christmas gifts as well on Friday, December 23.

Salasya's compound was full as people walked in numbers to benefit from his goodies.
