Murkomen, Tuya and Malonza to appear before panel today

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen leads the group of Cabinet Secretary nominees to be vetted today as the exercise enters the third day.

Murkomen, the Transport Cabinet Secretary nominee, will be the third elected member to appear before the Appointments Committee chaired by National Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.

He will be seeking the approval of the House team that has already interviewed fellow lawmakers Aden Duale (Garissa Township MP for Defence docket) and Alice Wahome (Kandara MP,  Water).

He will appear from 9am. He will be followed by Senate colleague Soipan Tuya (Nominated), who has been picked for the Environment and Forestry docket. Tuya, from Narok, is set to be the first woman from the Maa community to be vetted for a CS post.

She will be followed by Peninah Malonza (Tourism and Wildlife) and Zachariah Njeru who will be seeking approval for Lands docket.

The last to face the committee on Wednesday is Susan Wafula, who has been nominated for the Health post.
