Police in Molo, Nakuru county have launched a manhunt for a 47-year-old brewer from Bulbul village in Marishoni after she reportedly killed her boyfriend by stabbing him on his head and the wrist on Saturday.

Caroline Chepkemoi is said to have differed sharply with her alleged boyfriend John Kiprono before picking a knife and attacking him severally.

Molo sub-county police commander Joseph Karanja said that Ms Chepkemoi had received the man in her house and were in conversations when hell broke loose and fight ensured prompting the man to flee to save his life.

Kiprono went back to his Mawe Mbili village but due to the gravity of the injuries, he visited Kapsinet dispensary for management where, unfortunately, he succumbed to the injuries today, he said.

Angry residents of Bulbul village descended on Chepkemoi's two houses and torched them down in retaliation accusing the woman of shattering lives of many young men with her illicit brews.

"We are tired of such brewers who have no mercy on young men, they must leave this village or else we shall take the law into our own hands," said one irate local.

The body of the deceased has been moved to Elburgon sub-county mortuary awaiting postmortem as the police hunt for the assailant who is still at large.
