Narok senator, lawyer at each other’s throats over Bomas chaos
Narok Senator Ledama Olekina clashed with lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi over recent revelations about the chaos that took place in Bomas during the August 9, 2022 polls.
In a tweet on January 17, 2023 at 11:33 pm, Olekina called on President William Ruto to form a commission to look into the incidents that happened in Bomas during the announcement of the presidential polls.
"Mr. President @WilliamsRuto to end all conspiracy theories and the talk on the IEBC debacles, let’s cut to the chase! Set up a Commission of inquiry and extend it to cover the last two elections! ….People are glorifying Chebukati as if he is a saint? NKT !" Olekina tweeted.
Reacting to Olekina's tweet on January 18, 2023 at 8:05 am, Abdullahi claimed that the senator was among those who caused mayhem at Bomas, adding that he could be jailed for seven years over the incident.
"If the RULE OF LAW applied in Kenya, that RUNGU you applied with devastating consequences at Bomas should have landed you a 7 year term in prison…but Senator you are a lucky dude…this is Kenya where the RULE OF LAW has taken leave of absence!" Abdullahi tweeted.
The Narok senator was irked by Abdullahi's tweet and he questioned his credentials as a qualified lawyer.
"At times I wonder which law school you went to ? Are you sure you are a lawyer or a gun for hire ?" Ladema fired at Abdullahi.
"Senator, you know I went to better schools than you…that is why I never use RUNGUS!" Abdullahi hit back. 
Ladema and Abdullahi's tweef comes after President William Ruto claimed that there was a plot to kidnap outgoing Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati during the last general election.
Speaking during a meeting with members of constitutional commissions and independent offices held at the State House in Nairobi on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, the Head of State claimed that the plot was aimed at crippling the commission in an attempt to have new compliant officials.
"There was a direct attempt to abduct, and murder Chebukati so that the commission would be paralysed or a compliant commissioner takes over and subvert the people's sovereignty. It was a hard, cold, lonely time, the threats were dire, promised rewards lavish and pressure relentless," Ruto claimed.
Further, the President claimed that Chebukati's team was also offered bribes and threatened over the results of the August 9 presidential election.
