Church leaders decry burglars targeting church offerings

Friday, January 22nd, 2021 20:35 | By

Church leaders in Endebess, Tran Nzoia County have asked the government to investigate rising cases of burglary targeting church sanctuaries.

The clerics said gangsters have been breaking into churches and stealing electronics and church offerings.

Reverend Michael Barasa Juma of the Solution Jesus Glory Ministries  led other  religious leaders in condemning the bizarre incidents at the Tabernacle of Praise International Ministry and the Redeemed Gospel church both in Endebess, saying such thievery was the most  immoral and goes contrary to God’s word.

They spoke to the People Daily in Endebess as anger over the alleged theft continued to rise.

The anger has triggered lamentations in churches across the county, with worshippers demanding that security officers in the area sleeping on their jobs be transferred.

“It is inconceivable for us that a group  can sit and plot on how to steal money from the Lord’s sanctuary meant to cater for the lives of the priesthood and other less fortunate people in society," he said.
