COVID-19: Kenya records 17 new cases as six more recover

Kenya has confirmed 17 new cases of coronavirus, Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Mercy Mwangangi announced on Thursday.

This brings the total number of cases in the country to 320.

All the new cases are Kenyans.

Twelve of them are from Mombasa and five are from Nairobi.

"Fifteen of the new cases were picked for testing by our surveillance teams while two are from our quarantine facilities," CAS said.

Of the new cases, nine are females while eight are males.

Six more patients have turned negative, bringing the total recoveries in the country to 89.
