Chief executive Nancy Macharia.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced minimal transfers for head teachers and principals this year.

Chief executive Nancy Macharia said yesterday transfers among school administrators will be done this month to allow affected teachers to take up their new stations next month.

“TSC is impressed by work done by school heads both at primary and secondary school levels.

Some of these positive changes have been attributed to the move to reform the deployment system of head teachers and principals,” Macharia,  said during the launch of Form One selection at Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) in Nairobi, yesterday.

And just like the past, Macharia assured that the movements will be conducted with a human face and will not affect teachers nearing their retirement age or those living with disabilities.

As the Government continues to implement the 100 per cent transition plan, Macharia urged TSC field officers and head teachers to stand up and be counted in this campaign.

She told them to ensure they work in harmony with the multi- agency group to ensure all the candidates join secondary schools they have been selected to.

She assured that staffing of schools would continue saying the past two years, 18,700 teachers have been recruited on a permanent and pensionable terms.
