Five COVID-19 positive people disappear in Mombasa, possible hiding place identified

Five people who tested positive for Covid-19 in Old Town, Mombasa have disappeared from their homes to avoid being taken to hospital.

The five are reported to have fled together with their families.

They were among those tested during mass testing exercise in the area.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho said police and medical personnel have launched manhunt for the families who are believed to be hiding in Kisauni, Majengo or Likoni.

He said they had been informed of their status.
