Inua Mama Group yesterday took the initiative to educate and offer sanitisers to matatu operators as a means of curbing the spread of the Covid-19.

While sanitising passengers and operators plying the Nyali,-Mtwapa-Kisauni Road, Inua Mama official Zaituni Akinyi commended ressidnts for    their awareness on how to help prevent spread of  the virus.

“I urge everyone mostly the matatu sector as most Kenyans use them to commute and it easy to spread this savage virus “ said Akinyi.

Akinyi said that they took the initiate as mothers as since they can see what this disease is doing to other countries and the fact that we are a third world country, which makes it difficult not to share things which makes it easy for the virus to spread.

“We are being told to avoid contacts, touching ones, face and washing our hands, but mostly here with the fact that we are from the Coastal region where we love wedding, burials too are always crowded hence the need to sensitise people,” added Akinyi.

She further urged parents to look out for their children as they are also at a high risk of contacting the virus. Her sentiments were emphasised by Stella Wandoe.
