Kenya COVID-19 cases rise to 700

Kenya has confirmed 28 new COVID-19 cases, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman announced on Monday.

This brings the total number of cases in the country to 700.

Of the new cases, 10 are from Mombasa, Nairobi (7), Kajiado (9) and Wajir (2).

"The new cases in Kajiado are truck drivers who crossed the Namanga border to Kenya from Tanzania," Rashid said.

Twelve new COVID-19 patients have been discharged, bringing the total recoveries in the country to 251.

"We have however lost one patient. Total number of deaths from the disease now stands at 33," he said.
