Kenya records 15 new COVID-19 cases, 8 recoveries

Kenya has confirmed 15 new cases of COVID-19, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman announced on Tuesday.

The total number of cases in the country now stands at 715.

Fourteen of the new cases are Kenyans and one Rwandese.

Of the cases, 10 are males while five are females.

The cases were drawn from 978 people tested in the past 24 hours.

Seven of the new cases are from Mombasa, Migori (3), Wajir (2), Nairobi (1), Machakos (1) and Kiambu (1).

"I am glad to announce that eight patients have been discharged. Total recoveries in the country now stands at 259," Rashid said.

"We have, however, lost three patients in Mombasa. Two of them died at home while one died in hospital. Total number of deaths from the disease now stand at 36," he said.
