Kenyan woman nabbed with cocaine by Thai officials

Customs officials in Thailand have arrested a Kenyan woman who was attempting to sneak in one kilogramme of cocaine.
Suamu Nkele was arrested at the Suvarnabhumi airport after an X-ray scan revealed that she had swallowed the drugs and kept some in her socks and underwear, to avoid detection.
The Thai authorities said the woman had travelled from Luanda, Angola. If convicted, the Kenyan may be sentenced to death, according to the laws of that country.
About three months ago, another Kenyan was nabbed trying to sneak cocaine into Thailand.
Glenn Ooko 43 was arrested at the same airport with 68 packets of cocaine weighing about 1.2kg.
He was arrested alongside a Nigerian, Osita Joseph Ukpa who is said to have hired the man to smuggle the drugs.
The two had travelled from Ethiopia and are said to be part of a drug network operating in Thailand.
