More than 20 senior officers attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) were Monday moved in changes announced by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss George Kinoti.

According to officials, Kinoti moved Kiambu head of DCI Jeremiah Ikiao to Eastern and named him the regional head after promoting him.

Ikiao took over from Johnah Kirui who moved to Western in the same capacity.

Other County Criminal Investigations Officers named include Daniel Kandie (Murang’a), Samuel Kobina (Kitui), Paul Wachira (Kiambu), John Kamau (Railways) and Geoffrey Kathurima (Kilifi). Kathurima was recently moved from Kisii county to Railways.

It is not clear why Kathurima has been moved again but officials say the move is aimed at enhancing operations at the Railways command that is increasingly becoming busy and demanding.

Kayole head of DCI Josephat Ndungu was moved to Mombasa and replaced by Dadaab’s Peter Rioba.

Also affected was Kakamega CCIO Peter Kimulwa who was moved to Turkana in the same capacity swapping positions with James Lelia.

Sources said more changes are expected after about a dozen officers completed a promotion course at the Loresho Police College they have been undergoing.

Others expected to be affected in the pending changes are personnel from the general duties.
