A Kisii court has issued an order stopping the burial of businesswoman, Callen Otiso until land buyers, who bought some parcels of land from her are paid.

Kisii Principal Magistrate Ezekiel Obina gave the order on Tuesday after Onsanse Ondora, Joseph Kuria, Duncan Bonuke, Daniel Monda, Jared Kebaya and a Self Help Group ( SHG) said they lost Ksh. 10.5 million in the scheme.

In an application certified urgent the buyers want to be refunded their money before Otiso, who is suspected to have hanged herself on Thursday last week is buried. The case will be mentioned on Thursday.

Otiso was to be buried on Monday but the land buyers moved to court to stop it until they know the status of their purchases before she is interred.

The buyers said they bought the land at Boburia area, Menyinkwa Estate in Nyaribari Chache constituency, Kisii central sub county in Kisii County, adding they paid various rates for separate parcels of land.
