Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has rubbished the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) taskforce report, describing it as an illegal and flawed document meant to create leadership positions for the elites and dynasties.

In an interview with K24 TV’s Punchline talkshow on Sunday, Miguna said the BBI regional rallies in Kisii, Kakamega and Mombasa clearly proved the campaign has been framed to only serve the interests of President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Solve problems

“BBI is illegal and unconstitutional. They are just looting public resources. What law allowed two people to set up a committee and handpick individuals to spearhead the Constitution amendment process?” asked Miguna.

He added: “There is a process on how the Constitution can be reviewed. Which is either the popular initiative route and the parliamentary initiative.”

“You cannot tell people BBI will solve their problems, when you don’t care about the rule of law and the people,” said Miguna from his residence in Toronto, Canada.

The lawyer said what BBI purports to wrestle has been addressed by the Kriegler Commission,  Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission of Inquiry on Post-Election Violence—popularly known as the Waki Commission.
