Miguna sues two airlines, seven others over his aborted trip to Kenya

Controversial Canada-based lawyer Miguna Miguna has sued Air France, Lufthansa Airlines, Kenya's Attorney General and six others over his aborted trip into the country in January 2020.
In a certificate of urgency filed at Milimani Law Courts by his lawyer John Khaminwa, Miguna wants an order to compel the two airlines to transport him to the jurisdiction of the court within 48 hours pending the hearing of the application.
Miguna also wants the court to bar Air france and Lufthansa Airlines from landing in Kenya if they do not transport him to the jurisdiction of the court in Kenya.
Through court documents, Miguna also wants the government to be barred from issuing red alerts and travel advisories against him.
In the documents filed in the high court constitution and human rights registry, Miguna wants a declaration that the respondents decision to cancel his citizenship, revoke and confiscate his passport and a declaration that he was a one of the prohibited group of persons is unconstitutional, illegal and void.
"A declaration that the detaining of the petitioner without justification and informing him of the reasons of such detention, holding him communicado in deplorable and inhumane conditions, threatening him with death and physical harm, denying him food and sanitation services was a violation of petitioners rights protected by the constitution," his lawyer told the court.
Among those Miguna sued are Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Fred Matiang'i, Foreign Affairs CS Rachel Omamo and Kenya Airports Authority.
