Police recover knife linked to priest killing
A knife that is believed to have been used to slit the throat of the Catholic priest whose body was found buried in a shallow grave in Embu county has been recovered.
The crucial exhibit in the murder of Fr Michael Maingi Kyengo, was retrieved yesterday afternoon from a toilet after one of the main suspects directed the detectives to the scene.
Police sources said told the People Daily that Michael Mutini Mutunga 25, confessed to detectives from the Special Crime Prevention Unit of disposing of the knife and led them to the toilet.
The suspect has cooperating with the detectives since he was arrested on Tuesday and so far at least four exhibits have been recovered. The knife will today be taken for forensic examination.
