Ruto allies pledge to fight on following Nakuru drama
Two MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto put on a brave face a day after police barred them from accessing Rift Valley Provincial headquarters where President Kenyatta was issuing title deeds to former Nyakinyua dancers.
Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika and Nakuru East MP David Gikaria said what they encountered is of little consequence terming the whole episode as “petty.”
Although they said that the move to stop them from participating in a public function was unprecedented, the two leaders said that they would not be intimidated adding that they will continue championing the interests of their people.
Not big deal
Like Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri who addressed the press separately, Kihika and Gikaria fingered Nakuru MP Lee Kinyanjui and County Commissioner Erastus Mbui for allegedly feeding the president with wrong information.
“I know a lot of questions have been asked on why as leaders we couldn’t access the venue yesterday… I don’t think it’s a big deal in the scheme of things it is part of job hazard and everything to do with local politics,” said Senator Kihika.
Ngunjiri has sensationally claimed that the President is using the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and the referendum which is being mooted to cling to power.
