Stop endless politicking, leaders told

Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange.

Politicians have been urged to stop early 2022 election campaigns and instead channel their energies and time towards transforming the nation.

Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange yesterday said the country has not achieved most of its transformational targets due of distractions and lack of goodwill from politicians who start campaigns immediately after elections.

Koinange said, should support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four agenda, the war against corruption and tribalism.

“Let us stop politicking from Monday to Sunday and from January to December because that is not why we fought for independence.

We fought for independence so that we can work together to address the ills that were there,” the MP said in a statement.

According to Koinange, who is one of the President’s supporters, Uhuru has been unhappy with the 2022 campaigns that started immediately after his re-election.

He backed the ongoing purge on Deputy President William Ruto’s allies in the Senate and National Assembly, saying it was long overdue.

Koinange said it would be difficult for the President to implement his agenda if the loyalty of parliamentary leaders was in question.

“If we have to fast track the transformation of this country, the President needs to work with people he can trust,” Koinange said.
