President Uhuru Kenyatta’s elder sister Kristina Pratt yesterday met Opposition chief Raila Odinga as the two foremost political families continue to rekindle their ties.

Pratt, who has kept a low profile, paid Raila a visit at his Capitol Hill office in Nairobi, but details of the meeting were not divulged.

“I was pleased to receive Madam Kristina Pratt Kenyatta at my office this morning,” Raila posted on his social media accounts, accompanied by pictures of the two.

Although Pratt has for a long time remained a political, at least publicly, the meeting has political connotations, considering the political camaraderie being exhibited by Uhuru and Raila following their March 2018 handshake.

In January, Uhuru’s brother, Muhoho, accompanied Raila, who is also African Union’s High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa, to the 25th anniversary of the latter’s father, the late Jaramogi Oginga in Kisumu.

And a month earlier when Raila  presided over a luncheon-cum-fundraiser for PCEA Kangoya Child Development Centre in Kiambu, he was accompanied by Uhuru’s cousin and former Kiambu Woman Representative Anna Nyokabi.

“We are here to welcome you and make sure this is just a beginning of thousands of visits you will make to Kiambu,” she told Raila.

Uhuru and Raila’s political truce in 2018 quelled the tensions that had built up after the twin presidential elections in 2017.
