Boda Boda Association in Uasin Gishu County has come up with new  rules to curb unlawful activities among their members.

The new rules now say that in case of any reported accident involving a motorcycle, no one should take the law into their own hands.

Instead, they are required to immediately inform their Sacco association, failure to which the law breakers will be expelled from the association and will never be allowed to operate in any designated area.

The riders should also not carry more than one passenger, must be in full protective gear and also all their motorcycles must have stickers.

Spekaing in ELdoret town, the Association’s chairman Dennise Kipkurgat condemned Friday’s assault of a female motorist in Nairobi incident calling upon the government to take quick and necessary action and arrest the notorious culprits without any compromise.

“I would like to call upon the boda boda riders in Uasin Gishu County and country wide to adhere to the rules and regulations and anyone who fails to do so, will carry his or her own cross. We must be responsible citizens who obey the law,” said Peter Martin, a boda boda rider.
