NYS scandal suspect Lilian Omollo among aspirants awarded direct tickets by Jubilee
Jubilee party has handed former Youth PS and NYS scandal suspect Lilian Omollo a direct ticket for the Embu senate seat ahead of the August 9 polls.
This follows successful consensus engagements to pick candidates in Embu county.
Omollo was issued with certificates on Tuesday, April 19 by Jubilee National Elections Board Chairman Stephen Wandeto in an exercise witnessed by the party's director of election Kanini Kega.
Others in the county include; gubernatorial aspirant Emilio Muriithi Kathuri, Woman rep aspirant Susan Mbuya Nyaga, Mbeere South aspirant Hon. Mutava Musyimi and a host of MP as well as MCA aspirants.
Omollo is likely to face off with outgoing Embu governor Martin Wambora who will be running on his own political party Umoja na Maendeleo (UM), and Embu deputy governor David Kariuki who won the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket during the recently concluded primaries.
Omollo had declared her interest in the race in February and while defending her candidature, she promised to bring her vast knowledge acquired from her decades' long experience.
“I have a lot of experience, knowledge on issues of public service and financial management and I do not think there is any aspirant in Embu who fits that bill,” she said.
“I think it’s time I use my head to help my people by ensuring the county gets its rightful share of funds from the national government.”
