The party picked the Baba Dogo MCA to the position, which if  approved by the House, will see him replace  Ruai Ward representative John Kamangu as part of a deal that saw the Raila Odinga-led party support Jubilee Party’s candidate, Benson Mutura for the Speaker’s position in return for the deputy’s position.

Mutura was voted in by all the 99 MCAs who cast their ballot replaced Beatrice Elachi.

Standing Order

In line with the ongoing efforts to create a harmonious environment in the House, the party central committee has made the following changes in regard to the leadership; Deputy Speaker Geoffrey Majiwa,” reads a letter by Makongeni Ward representative,  Peter Imwatok, who doubles up as the Minority whip.

At the same time, Embakasi MCA Michael Ogada is the new minority leader, replacing Karen MCA David Mberia.
