OKA principals are very nervous, can’t make own decisions – Mudavadi
Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has hit out at his colleagues in the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) for walking out of his Sunday event.
Speaking at an interview with KTN News, Mudavadi claimed that the move by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and KANU chairman to walk out of his National Delegates Conference was a sign that they are nervous to make their independent decisions.
According to the ANC boss, it is the nervousness of the OKA principals that made him part ways with them.
"What the earthquake has done is a classic situation that sometimes you have to throw the stone into the pond so that you can see what comes out. I could see people who are very nervous, they are not ready to make a decision out of free will.
"I think they (OKA principals) have been very nervous. I respect them, we have made our journeys but it is clear that maybe we might not have been exactly in consonance," Mudavadi said.
Mudavadi said that he began to withdraw from OKA a few weeks ago after he realised that some of his colleagues started developing a feeling that the alliance was a part of Raila's Azimio la Umoja movement.
The former vice president further dismissed the possibility of OKA remaining intact until the election. According to him, the alliance is on shaky ground and is not making any progress.
"If we are candid about the current situation, OKA is not sitting well. OKA is on shaky ground. There will be conversations to come but I want to move forward and I think OKA was not moving forward fast enough," Mudavadi stated.
