One person dies in Siaya road crash
One person died in a road accident that involved a Climax Bus and boda boda rider on Siaya- Kisumu road on Sunday evening.
According to an eyewitness identified as Steven Odhiambo, the accident occurred at 7:30pm.
"The deceased was riding towards Siaya town when he overtook a fellow boda boda rider and roll under the Climax Bus which was heading to Nairobi.
"The driver of the bus was not aware of the incident and pulled the deceased for about 100 meters under the bus before stopping amidst shouts by bodaboda riders," Odhiambo said.
According to Siaya police boss Michael Muchiri, who confirmed the incident, the driver drove back to Siaya Police Station where he reported the incident.
The police boss also urged road users to be extra careful while travelling during this festival season.
The body of the deceased was taken to Siaya Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
