Siaya Governor James Orengo has urged Kenyans where Azimio's leader got little or no support to consider giving him an audience whenever he jets in their jurisdictions.

Orengo while addressing residents of Kericho at Kisii Green Stadium during the disbursement of Ksh168 million to bright and needy students said Raila is a Kenyan who means well for his countrymen and there is nothing wrong when given an audience to discuss matters that touch the country.

Orengo's call

"It's not a campaign time yet but I urge you to give Raila(Arap mebei) an audience," said Orengo adding that it's not a must to act as per his speech but just give him a listening ear.

"At times, listening to speeches of other leaders is important. Do not disrupt them but uphold maturity.
If we are in a situation where we can reason together, we can make a great Nation," said Orengo.

"So am prepared to be led, to listen and be part of this country called Kenya," he said.

Orengo's remarks come only a few days after Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi announced that a coalition or outfit is being crafted that would be used by Raila in 2027.

Kenyan politician David Murathe had also told wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka to hold his horse as Raila is the next flagbearer.

Orengo who was accompanied by Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, Kericho Governor Eric Mutahi, Kisumu Deputy Governor Mathews Owili, Senator Aaron Kipkirui Cheruiyot said divisive politics must not let to thrive in the country.

"Even if we do politics in this country, at the end of the day we are Kenyans. So if we hold that vision and commitment of being patriots and good Kenya there is no day we can fail as Kenyans to find solutions to the challenges engulfing the Country.

"Differing in politics is healthy and have learnt that Kericho Governor Mutahi is a mature political leader. He has embraced me and Kisumu Deputy Governor Mathews Owili in his territory as we discuss matters of development," he stated.

Orengo said those questioning how he ended up being the chief guest at the bursary function must know that a leader of his calibre goes beyond borders.

"I was born and fed here in Kericho. It's here where I got the legal skills and it was also my first working station. Furthermore, we work with Mutahi at the Council of Governors and he is my leader at the Committee of Education.

"When chairing a meeting he can put me to order, he recently chaired a meeting and spoke on our behalf," he pointed out.

Orengo on sharing podium

Orengo said Sang whom he was sharing a podium with is his senior at the council by virtue of being their chief whip, so in the country, there is a need to have respect for one another.

"So when peace reins in Kericho am always happy because Kisumu and Siaya grow economically," he added.

Mutahi on his part said their coming together is pegged on the Lake region economic bloc and would support initiatives that would transform the lives of residents in their jurisdictions.

"We have committed to work together for the benefit of our people, so going forward, we shall also get to Siaya to not only support their development programs but alo for exchange programs.

"Poverty and hunger does not know tribe," said Mutahi adding that Sondu-Kericho boundary conflicts will be resolved amicably.

"We must co-exist peacefully as neighbours and our next meeting that shall attract leaders from the two Counties to permanently resolve the issue," said Mutahi.

"We are committed towards ensuring peace thrives at the borders of Kericho and Sondu," he concluded.
