Kiambu County assembly speaker Stephen Ndichu now promises to start a men and clergy fund should he ascend to the county leadership come August this year.

Ndichu, who is seeking to succeed governor James Nyoro in the already crowded race, said that for a long time, men and clergy have been sidelined by the government and hardly benefit from any funding.

He said that women, youth, and persons living with disabilities have been enjoying government goodies for a long time as men who pay taxes and sacrifice a lot to build the nation seat at the bench.

"Once I get the mandate of Kiambu residents, I will introduce a kitty for men and clergymen who for a long time have been discriminated against and sidelined," he said.

Speaking at Mutuma village in Gatundu North during the burial of John Mbuthia Mwangi who died at the age of 96, Ndichu said he has the requisite experience having served as MP for the larger Juja to take Kiambu County to the next level.

Ndichu will be battling it out with Nyoro, impeached governor Ferdinand Waititu, former governor William Kabogo, Thika MP Patrick Wainaina, Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi, Juliet Kimemia among others.
