Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang’ has called for caution in the Orange party over plans to use delegates system of nomination.

Kajwang’ argues that the delegates process of picking aspirants was likely to lead to shambolic primaries, as some delegates may be bribed and influenced to vote in favour of certain candidates.

“I became a victim before the 2015 senatorial by-election. My wealthy competitors ran away and hid more than three-quarters of delegates in Tanzania,” said Kajwang’, who has declared that he will defend his seat in 2022.

Speaking at the weekend, the lawmaker gave an example of Homa Bay where competition for governor seat is becoming stiff, as key politicians prepare to battle it out for the ODM ticket.

Race has attracted Woman Rep Gladys Wanga , former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, ODM national chairman John Mbadi, former Kasipul MP Oyugi Magwanga and Deputy Governor Hamilton Orata.

Kajwang’ asked ODM to use suitable nomination process that will yield peaceful and credible outcome.
