The Amani National Congress Party has on Saturday 8, 2021 stated categorically that the appearance of Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala or any other ANC party member at Ruto's mega rally, that is being held at the Eldoret Sports Club, has not been sanctioned by the outfit or their party leader Musalia Mudavadi.

In a statement posted on their social media platforms, the Mudavadi-led party through its Secretary-General Simon Gakuru averred that they had not dispatched any of its members to represent them at the event.

In furtherance, the party stated that official party positions only come from its Party Leader or the Secretary-General.

"The ANC party would like to disassociate itself with the activities taking place at Eldoret Sports Club Grounds where UDA Party is holding its rally. ANC has not sent anybody to represent either the party or the Party Leader in the said function," the statement read.

Speaking at the event, Cleophas Malala stated that he attended the event following Mudavadi's assurance that the ANC party embraces the freedom of association. Malala added that he graced the event to court the Kalenjin community to enter into a political partnership with the Luhya community.
