Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has issued the Inspector General of Police with an ultimatum in regard to solving Dennis Itumbi's alleged abduction puzzle.

The ex-lawmaker, through his Twitter account, asked the IG to swiftly get to the root of the matter or else the United Democratic Alliance party (UDA) will devise another way to deal with the matter.

Muthama, who doubles up as the UDA Chairman, averred that the remarks he tweeted were the official position of the Ruto-allied outfit concerning the alleged abduction and subsequent torture of blogger Dennis Itumbi.

"The position of UDA party concerning the abduction and subsequent torture of our gallant Hustler Nation defender, Dennis Itumbi is that the Inspector General of Police, Hillary Mutyambai should act swiftly to bring to book the perpetrators of this heinous act and make the investigation report public. Failure to which our Party will devise another way to deal with this matter within the confines of the law," he tweeted.

While reacting to the reports about the alleged abduction of Ruto's Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi, the National Police Service assured Kenyans that it would leave no stone unturned in a concerted effort to unravel the identities of the controversial blogger's kidnappers.

“Police have since launched investigations with a view to establishing the circumstances surrounding this incident,” a press release by the NPS read in part.

Police spokesman Bruno Shioso appealed to Kenyans to be patient and shun speculations on the matter.

He also beseeched Kenyans who could be privy to any information that could lead to the arrest of the abductors to volunteer information regarding the incident to any Police station.
