Minority Leader in the National Assembly Junet Mohammed has accused Deputy President William Ruto of being behind Meru Senator Muthika Linturi's Eldoret 'madoadoa' remarks.

Junet accused DP Ruto of 'pretending' to caution his supporters against using inciteful language yet, according to Junet, Ruto is the one who sent Senator Linturi to use the same language in his Saturday rally in Eldoret.

"I have heard that Ruto has condemned Senator Linturi's sentiment while in Bomet. That is a pure joke, he should have condemned Linturi while in Eldoret, the same day he made such remarks instead of waiting until things turn hot," Junet said.

According to Junet, Ruto's failure to condemn Linturi while in Eldoret implies that he is the one who sent the senator to make the inflammatory remarks.

"He sent Linturi to make the remarks as he waited to see how Kenyans will react. After noting that things are going south is when he comes out to condemn it, We are not stupid.

"It is you (Ruto) who sent Linturi, we know how you experiment things," he said.

His sentiment comes after the DP cautioned political leaders including those in his camp to be cautious of what they speak in public.

He also urged the security agencies not to take sides while handling security issues among Kenyans.

“We want every inciter in Kenya, whether they belong to UDA or the other side, we want the law to apply equally so that we can secure our nation,” Ruto said.

“For the avoidance of doubt the agencies charged with security and ensuring we have a peaceful election must apply the law in a manner that does not create two sets of laws for two sets of groups,” he added.
