Senator, MP clash over Waiguru ouster motion

A senator who sits in the committee probing the impeachment motion against Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru is in the eye of the storm after he was spotted last Friday in a hotel with a section of MPs from Mt Kenya in a heated discussion.

Although the details of the meeting were not clear, there are claims he was being put on the spot for refusing to hold his end of the bargain.

It is claimed he was among those who had been tasked to ensure the governor does not survive the motion.

State House makes sworn enemies smile

The war of words between a governor and a senior government official seems to have cooled down after the intervention of State House.

A tense meeting between the governor and the official at State House appeared to have helped the two resolve their issues.

A source told Street Talk that they were given an ultimatum to either work together or they would force the powers that be to make a ‘tough decision.’

Now, the two meet every week to ensure the county is running properly and all projects are being implemented.

A Member of the Nairobi County Assembly, who was expecting to get back an influential House Committee seat he lost recently, is in trouble after his benefactor who was protecting him was kicked out of a powerful parliamentary committee.

The MP was negotiating for the MCA to get back his seat before he was kicked out.

Now the MCA has resorted to sending messages to a senior party official, begging for his seat back.

The new Leader of Majority in the National Assembly, Amos Kimunya has his job cut out for him.

His first assignment would be to ensure the appointment of the new auditor general does not face any challenge in the House.

However, a number of legislators allied to the Kieleweke side have vowed to give him a difficult time as far as his new appointment is concerned.
